Want to be a Volunteer?
The new title sponsor of TampaBay’s PGA TOUR tournament is Valspar Paint, a Minneapolis based Paint and Coatings Company! Valspar’s multi year commitment is fantastic news for the Tampa Bay community. The Valspar Championship will be held March 10-16 on the Copperhead Course at Innisbrook.
Our volunteers play a key role in the communities’ ability to run a first class PGA TOUR event and volunteer support was certainly a positive factor in the PGA TOUR’S decision to return to Tampa Bay.
We are now signing up Volunteers for 2014! All volunteers will pay an $85 volunteer fee for 2014. Because of Valspar’s multi-year commitment, returning volunteers beginning in 2015 will have a reduced fee since you will have the option of reusing your jacket from 2014.
For 2014 your fee includes:
· Agreement to work a minimum of three shifts on your designated committee
· Receive a volunteer uniform that includes a shirt, jacket and hat or visor
· Receive lunch at the course each day you volunteer
· Receive complimentary parking each day you volunteer
· Receive a ticket good for admission to the tournament for you the entire week (including when you are not volunteering) AND a guest ticket good for admission the entire week ($65 ticket)
· Receive coupons for discounted golf to area courses including the Copperhead at Innisbrook
For 2014, there will be a limited number of Walking Scorer Committee positions available. These are available on a first-come, first- serve basis only to returning volunteers.
THE DEADLINE FOR RETURNING VOLUNTEERS TO GET 1ST CHOICE OF COMMITTEE ASSIGNMENTS IS JANUARY 31, 2014.
Training/Information sessions are mandatory for all volunteers and will be held the week before the tournament.
Khaki slacks or shorts (appropriate length) will be allowed but must be purchased on your own as the tournament office will not have these available for sale.
For those volunteers who prefer straw hats, there will be two options:
· You may purchase a new straw hat for $20.00
· You may purchase a replacement band with the Valspar Championship logo for $8.00 (to be used only on a straw hat previously purchased for our tournament).
Please keep in mind that if you wear a straw hat, only one with the Valspar Championship logo is acceptable.
All applicants with e-mail will receive confirmation via e-mail of their application being received along with necessary information. Applicants without e-mail will be confirmed via regular mail in February including all necessary information on credentials, uniform pick-up and committee meetings.
